Double Strawberry Cereal Bar

What you need

1 ¼ cups (310 ml) Whole wheat flour
¾ cup (175 ml) Old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup (125 ml) Toasted rice cereal
2 tablespoons (30 ml) Brown sugar
½ cup (125 ml) Butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 tablespoons (30 ml) Cold water
1/3 cup (75 ml) Reduced-sugar strawberry preserves
2 tablespoons (30 ml) Fresh lemon juice

How to prepare


Spray 8”x 8” baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Combine flour, oats, cereal, sugar, and 1 pouch of CARNATION BREAKFAST ESSENTIALS Powder in food processor container. Process 30 seconds or until mixture resembles sand.

Add butter and cold water. Process until mixture sticks together when pressed with fingers.

Press 2 cups (500 ml) of dough into prepared pan. Combine preserves, lemon juice and drink mix. Spread over dough in pan. Sprinkle remaining dough over preserves, gently pressing down.

Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until light golden brown.
