MACK Toffee Apple Hand Pies

InstructionsMelt butter in a large nonstick skillet set over medium-high heat. Add apple and cinnamon. Cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes or until tender; cool completely. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread pastry out on a clean surface. Cut out eight 3-inch (8 cm) rounds from each piece of pastry. Place half the rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the centre of each round on the baking sheet. Place a few toffee bits in the centre of the apples. Brush the outer edge with egg wash; top with remaining pastry rounds. Crimp the edges with a fork to seal the pastry and enclose the filling. Cut two small vent holed in the centre of each pie. Brush the top with egg wash. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Cool slightly before serving.
