TURTLES Topped Cookie
What you need
How to prepare
Preheat oven to 325°F. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
Cream butter and sugar with an electric mixture until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
With mixer on low, gradually add flour mixture. Beat until combined.
Divide dough in half, flatten into disks, and wrap each half in plastic wrap.
Freeze until firm (at least 20 minutes). Let dough stand 5 to 10 minutes after removing from freezer.
Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness on floured surface and use a cookie cutter to create circular shapes.
Transfer dough to lightly greased cookie sheets.
Bake for 12 to 16 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.
Gently push 1 TURTLES candy on top of each warm cookie; sprinkle with a little salt. Cool 3 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely before storing.
