Gerber® Meals Burnt or Brown

Gerber® Meals are portioned perfectly for little tummies, with a delicious taste that’s approved by tiny taste buds. They are made with wholesome and delicious ingredients, perfect for toddlers 12 months and older.

Due to the high-heat nature of the processing style used for Gerber® Meals, such as Cheese Ravioli in Tomato Sauce and Macaroni & Cheese with Peas & Carrots, the dairy ingredients tend to turn brown as a result. For food safety purposes, this high-heat step cannot be avoided during production. Each batch is tested to ensure that the correct ingredients are used during production.

In addition, if preparing the product in the microwave, the cheese may also turn brown if the product gets too hot. We want to reassure you that the change in color for these reasons is not a safety issue.
