BOOST Chocolate Mocha Energy Bars

These energy bars are a great breakfast pick-me-up and even have espresso powder for your morning hit of caffeine.

What you need

1 bottle (237 mL) BOOST Original Chocolate
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) BOOST Just Protein
3 1/2 cups (875 mL) quick cook oats
1 cup (250 mL) mini chocolate chips
2/3 cup (150 mL) hemp seeds
6 tbsp (90 mL) cocoa powder
4 tsp (20 mL) instant espresso powder
1/4 cup (60 mL) chia seeds
1 cup (250 mL) pitted dates
1/3 cup (75 mL) brown rice syrup
1/4 cup (60 mL) melted coconut oil

How to prepare

Instructions

Line a 13 x 9-inch (33 x 23 cm) metal baking pan with parchment paper.

In large bowl, stir together oats, chocolate chips, hemp seeds, protein powder, cocoa powder, espresso and chia seeds.

In blender, pulse pitted dates, BOOST® Original Chocolate, rice syrup and coconut oil until smooth.

Combine date mixture and oat mixture in a bowl. Toss well to coat.

Scrape into prepared pan and press down firmly.

Freeze for 40 minutes or refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm. Cut into 32 bars.

Preserving

Bars can be kept, tightly wrapped in plastic in the freezer for up to 1 week.
