Our Gerber® "Add Milk" cereal varieties give you the flexibility to add breast milk or the infant formula of your choice.

Can I add water to the “Add Milk” cereals?

You can add water to the “Add Milk” variety; however, the cereal will not be as nutritionally complete, as infant formula and breast milk contain other nutrients (such as fat and protein) that help to increase the nutritional value of the cereal.

Can I add milk to the “Add Water” cereals?  

We don’t recommend adding breast milk or infant formula to Gerber® “Add Water” cereals, as they already contain specially adapted milk and 14 essential nutrients. If you’ve accidentally prepared the “Add Water” cereal with breast milk or infant formula, it won’t harm the baby if you occasionally feed it to them. Remember, it’s important to prepare baby cereal as directed on the label.
