Bite or Cog Marks on Chocolate Bars
Friday, January 07, 2022
“If the bar or piece isn’t aligned properly, our machinery will hit the product and leave a mark.”
We understand that finding something that looks like a bite mark can be alarming. We want to provide some insight into how this may happen.
Our products are processed with machinery that uses an automated arm to straighten each bar or piece of chocolate to align it, so its wrapper will fit properly. If the bars or pieces, are out of alignment when travelling down the line, the mechanical arm will hit the product which can leave a mark. This can sometimes look like a bite or nibble mark, but this is something known as a “Cog Mark”.
We want you to have a positive experience and enjoy our product as intended. We would love to hear from you. Please share the product information and we will share the details with our Quality Assurance team for awareness and improvements. Use the button below to submit a request for a product replacement.
