White or Grey film on Nestlé® Chocolate
Tuesday, January 18, 2022
We want you to enjoy creamy and delicious chocolate as it is meant to be! Although your chocolate may appear white in appearance, if it is within the best before date, it would be considered safe to consume. Allow us to explain what may have happened.
A chocolate with white or grey appearance may be experiencing sugar or fat bloom. Bloom may develop on chocolate that has been improperly stored or shipped. The cocoa butter or oils separate from the other ingredients and rise to the surface of the chocolate causing it to lose its creamy texture and flavour. The bloom may look unattractive, but it is completely harmless.
We would love to hear about your experience. Please provide the product details for our teams awareness and continued improvements:
- UPC Bar Code
- Manufacturing code (series of numbers and best before date)
