Nestlé Health Science has made the difficult decision to discontinue its Carnation Breakfast Essentials® products in Canada this fall. We recognize that these products are ones you have enjoyed for many years, and we want to thank you for your loyalty and allowing us to be part of your life. 

Why are you discontinuing these products?

We have made the decision to discontinue the Carnation Breakfast Essentials portfolio, to allow for greater focus on the brands we know can deliver consumer value moving forward. As we recognize that these products are ones that you have enjoyed for many years, we have similar products within the BOOST brand to suggest:

• BOOST Original powders available in chocolate and vanilla, to replace Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder
• BOOST Original ready-to-drink available in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate latte, to replace Carnation Breakfast Essentials ready-to-drink.

What products are included?

The entire Carnation Breakfast Essentials portfolio will be discontinued, including ready to drink, sachet, and cannister formats.

How long with Carnation Breakfast Essentials products be available?

Products will continue to be in the market, both in store and online, until the fall of 2023 but may vary by retailer.

Does that have any impact on other Carnation products?

No, only the Carnation Breakfast Essentials portfolio is impacted. Carnation Hot Chocolate products will continue to be available.

Does this impact other markets?

This does not impact other markets where Carnation Breakfast Essentials is available.

Is there an alternative product you would recommend?

For those using our powders, we can suggest BOOST Original Instant Breakfast powders, available in chocolate and vanilla. How does BOOST Original compare to Carnation Breakfast Essentials?

Powders: Both Carnation Breakfast Essentials and BOOST powders are classified as Instant Breakfast products, suitable for ages 9 and older. When prepared with whole milk, each serving of BOOST or Carnation Breakfast Essentials contains 300 calories, 15g of protein, and 16 Vitamins & Minerals.

Ready-to-drink: Both Carnation Breakfast Essentials and BOOST Original are classified as meal replacements, suitable for ages 9 and older. Per 237ml serving, both offer 230 calories, 10g protein and 26 vitamins and minerals.
