PRIDE MONTH HAVE A BREAK, AND CELEBRATE WHO YOU ARE.
KitKat® is once again partnering with local Toronto 2SLGBTQIA+ organization Friends of Ruby. Friends of Ruby's mission is to support the progressive well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. Together, KitKat® and Friends of Ruby want to celebrate individuality and self-expression by encouraging the world to #CelebrateWhoYouAre. KitKat® and Friends of Ruby will be marching together in support of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community at the Toronto Pride Parade this year on June 25th, 2023. KitKat® will also distribute the limited-edition KitKat® Pride Bars at the Toronto Pride Street Fair to encourage the community to not only have a break but to also #CelebrateWhoYouAre.
You can support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to have a break and celebrate their individuality by purchasing KitKat® Limited Edition Pride Bars available on SKIP EXPRESS in major cities across Canada where 100% of the proceeds will be donated back to Friends of Ruby.
This particular month is especially important as it's focused on raising awareness of the challenges that 2SLGBTQIA+ youth face. It is a month to recognize and support communities in the pursuit of unequivocal rights to be known, be heard, be understood, be accepted, be respected, and to celebrate the beauty of who we are. It calls for celebration and embracing everyone, no matter who they love or how they identify. That's why we've proudly partnered with Friends of Ruby to create another limited edition KitKat® Bar to celebrate individuality, self-expression, and self-love.

In February 2022, KitKat® launched a two-year partnership with Toronto 2SLGBTQIA+ organization, Friends of Ruby, just in time for Chosen Family Day. This is a day that acknowledges important relationships and support systems within the community.
Friends of Ruby
The support system that is created through Chosen Families fosters an environment that promotes kinship, belonging and celebrates layered identities. Friends of Ruby facilitates spaces for LGBTQI2S youth to express themselves and find community. We are thrilled to collaborate with KitKat® to reiterate the value and need of Chosen Families.
The partnership included financial support of the Friends of Ruby mental health programs and the release of a limited-edition KitKat® bar that was available for the month of February. This was a one-of-a-kind ruby chocolate bar that featured special packaging designed by the Friends of Ruby team. All proceeds from every sale were donated to Friends of Ruby.

A: Last year, our limited run bars were available only in GTA through our KitKat Chocolatory. This year, KitKat® has partnered with SKIP EXPRESS LANE to distribute our KitKat Pride Bars to major cities across Canada. We are always looking for ways to increase our distribution – and are actively looking at ways to reach a greater number of Canadian consumers for future initiatives.
